2 APC Governors Who Want Peter Obi To Win The 2023 Presidential Election If Bola Tinubu Doesn’t Win

The Nigerian political space has been revived by the 2023 presidential bid of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi. His movement appears to be resonating with a lot of Nigerians, who desire for an alternative to the two major political parties in the country- the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.

In this article, we are going to look at two Governors in the APC who have expressed admiration for Peter Obi’s presidential bid and also want him to win the 2023 presidential election, if the APC’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not win.
1) Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu
The Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN in an exclusive interview with Channels Television on the 10th of August, 2022, revealed he will be satisfied if Bola Ahmed Tinubu loses next year’s presidential election to Peter Obi, so far the Presidency goes to the South and not the North, which produced President Muhammadu Buhari.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who is one of the chief advocates for a 2023 Southern Presidency, explained that the campaign for a Southern Presidency by 2023, was flagged off by the Southern Governors Forum in 2021 and does not have to do with their political parties.
Governor David Umahi
Speaking after visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on the 9th of September, 2022, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engineer David Umahi expressed his sincere admiration for Peter Obi’s presidential bid, explaining that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate has kept the hope for a South-East Presidency alive.
Governor David Umahi revealed that he wants Bola Ahmed Tinubu to win the 2023 presidential election as a member of the APC, but wants Peter Obi to win if the APC’s presidential candidate fails to do so. The Ebonyi State Governor further claimed that Peter Obi’s movement is authored by God and is centred on equity, justice and fairness.
