Former federal lawmaker, Patrick Obahiagbon has ruled out Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi winning the 2023 general elections according to report from Peoples Gezette.
He said that Obidients’ zeal would not be enough to overthrow entrenched political parties such as the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Although Mr Obi had created a ‘third force,’ which he characterized as “the emergent, surging political sirocco of the Obi,” the Edo-born politician emphasized that the race was still between the APC’s Bola Tinubu and the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar.
According to him, Nigerians who support Mr Obi’s presidential aspiration are those who are sick and weary with the country’s current state as a result of terrible leadership arising from the current political system.
The former lawmaker stated that the LP candidate’s ‘languorous’ supporters needed to learn more about Nigerian politics.
Candidates for the 2023 election have started meeting with various stakeholders in order to garner more support before official political campaigns begin in September, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
