2023 Presidency: I Did Not Quarrel With Obi Over Campaign Money – Labour Party Chieftain, Pat Utomi

[ad_1]

With less than 24 days to the commencement of political campaigns in Nigeria, Labour Party chieftain, Professor Pat Utomi has come out to react to rumors claiming he recently had a spat with the party’s presidential flag bearer, Peter Obi.

Speaking during an interview on CHANNELS TV‘s ‘Sunday Politics’ an hours ago, Utomi, who is currently traveling with Obi on his meetings with Nigerians abroad, dismissed recent reports claiming that he quarreled with the former Anambra governor over the issue of campaign funding. Describing the reports as fake news, Utomi disclosed that he has a penchant for walking away from organizations when disputes about money come up regardless of how much he stands to lose in the end.

“This shows you how dangerous a territory we are playing in. This thing called fake news has reached such a point now. For example, I heard that this quarrel happened in Agbor (Delta State), a town I have not even visited in years.

Seun you know me, the last conversation or dispute I will ever have with anybody is about money. Whenever there is an issue and people are disputing about money, I just walk away even if I have billions to lose. So, this report about quarreling with Obi is nonsense. We have not even had any discussion about campaign funds,” he said.
