2023: We carried out an opinion poll and 40% of Nigerians don’t want APC or PDP- Atedo Peterside

The founder of Anap foundation and Stanbic IBTC bank, Atedo Peterside has revealed the outcome of an opinion poll its foundation carried out on the 2023 presidential election.

Mr Peterside who spoke on Channels TV’s Politics Today said about 40% of Nigerians who participated in the opinion poll don’t approve of ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He said this was contrary to the performance of the PDP which was the ruling party in 2011 which got 54% approval ratings from Nigerians.

“My foundation, Anap foundation, we’ve always been involved in opinion polls since 2011. Let me tell you the number one surprise that we already know. It has been published in the papers, I’ve seen all the reports.

In 2011, PDP was the ruling party. Before the elections in 2011, from our opinion polls, PDP the ruling party and President Goodluck Jonathan had a 54% approval ratings from Nigerians.

Two months ago, similar opinion poll carried out showed that 40% of Nigerians don’t approve of APC or PDP. 40% of Nigerians don’t want to hear about APC or PDP.”

He said the results of the opinion poll shows something has changed and it will be foolhardy of anyone to believe things are the same as before.
