2023: Wike’s Camp Will Be Carried Along In Campaign Council – PDP

Despite the crisis engulfing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party has pledged to include all of its members in the yet-to-be-announced campaign council for the 2023 elections.

Debo Ologunagba, the PDP‘s national publicity secretary, stated this in an interview with Daily Trust on Monday.

In addition, he urged Nigerians not to worry that the campaign council had not been established days before the start of the campaign.

The official start of the campaigns for the elections in 2023 has been set for September 28, 2022, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Before the campaign council’s statement, Ologunagba suggested that some measures be taken.

“PDP is organised. We have a system in place, follow it religiously, and are well-organized. We don’t just ignore our processes and go overboard. We cannot make any announcements until we have the National Executive Committee (NEC), but I am not concerned because we are prepared and you can see our party members collaborating.

The PDP is a party of leaders and followers, and stakeholders that are united and working together. Everyone who is a member of this party, critical stakeholders, all of us are working together, Ologunagba said in response to the question of whether Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike and his camp will be carried along due to the differences in the party.

“We share the same goal: to rescue Nigerians and start the difficult process of reconstructing the country. Everyone will take part in a vigorous campaign that ushers in a PDP administration at all levels in 2023.

The National Working Committee (NWC) meeting and the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting were both confirmed by him.

“We have NEC, so let the NEC handle its responsibilities; when they release a communique, we will let you know; that is the procedure; I don’t preempt NEC.” We’ll provide you a report after NEC concludes so you can learn about everything.
