3 Reasons Why Other Clubs Should be Wary of Man United in the Premier League

[ad_1]

For four straight games now, Manchester United have been victorious after losing their first two games of the season. Brentford and Brighton looked to have exposed the team in those losses and other clubs thought that those shambolic displays would continue.

Unfortunately for them, the lion they thought was still sleeping is very much awake. It wasn’t that they were exposed in those two games, the games where just one offs. Now, with things taking shape, every other club in the division have to take note. In fact, they should be wary of Manchester United.

Recall that since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United dramatically fell off the cliff. The club have hired managers with different views and approach but all ended in shambles.

The 2021/2022 season had looked like that season the club would finally get back from the beginning but it ended as probably the most disappointing season ever.

This season though, those two opening games loses killed every little hope of a good season or effect of Erik ten Hag. However, even in those losses, something looked different. Now, those difference are beginning to take effects, other team should fear Manchester United now for the reason below.

Erik ten Hag.

While Manchester United have had managerial failures since 2013, the appointment of Erik ten Hag appears to be different. David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and recently Ralf Rangnick have all come and gone.

None of these coaches were given the power that Erik ten Hag has been given. They could not have been able to drop Harry Maguire or Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Ten Hag did both for the sake of the team.

Aside to his tactical knowledge and coaching abilities, he is making the right decisions. Despite the status of Casemiro, he has been on the bench because Mctominey has suddenly channeled his inner “Zidane”. All these are down to one man who is Erik ten Hag.

Unity.

For many seasons now, it was evident that Manchester United play individually in a sport where you have 10 other teammates as a player on the pitch. This season though, after just four games, the club now plays as a unit. There is a sense of collectivity instead of the usual individuality.

The attitude of the players is so great that even Ronaldo while on the bench celebrate his team’s goals. Players such as Pogba once described as a virus were shown the door, the result is a united Manchester United.

The defence line now celebrate clearances and defensive blocks, the goalkeeper is enjoying more protection and players are being selected based on merit. Such brings togetherness and unity, that should worry other clubs.

Recruitment.

One of the things that went worse post Sir Alex Ferguson is the recruitments that Manchester United have done. This summer though, things changed.

Erik ten Hag was backed, his only target that wasn’t delivered is Frenkie De Jong. Ask any knowledgeable football person and they would not say Manchester United failed. The reason is that while Ten Hag wanted him, he didn’t want to join Manchester United. That he didn’t join in the end is good.

Compare that to the signings of Martinez, Eriksen, Malacia and most importantly Antony. The latter skipped trainings just to force the move to Manchester United. The other players had other choices but they chose Manchester United.

It shows that these players wanted the club as much as the club wanted them. This is the opposite of what the club have been doing for years. They now appear to be getting the recruitment right. This should make other teams fear again.

Although the club overpaid for Lisandro Martinez, Carlos Casemiro and Antony Santos, you can’t blame them, it is the same market for everybody.

The reasons given above are evident to see. The attitude and display of the Manchester United team has improved significantly and can only get better as time goes on. These should be of great concern tobthe Red Devils rivals, and they should fear the club now like they used to.

What is your take on this article? Should other clubs really fear Manchester United again?
