A female senator of the 9th assembly that died on seat

Some senators of the 9th assembly sadly passed away due to an ailment or the other. Although, for most of them, the actual cause of their death was not disclosed. In the 9th national assembly, only three senators have passed away and the female among them is Rose Okoji Oko. She was a Nigerian politician and senator. Prior to her senatorial seat, she was a Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s 7th National Assembly.

She was elected into office as the first female representative from her constituency in June 2011 and sat as Deputy Chairman House Committee on Education. She was the Senator representing the people of Cross River North Senatorial District.

Before her death, she was elected a Senator twice, representing Cross River North senatorial district. Unfortunately for her, she died on 23rx March 2020 in a hospital in London, United Kingdom. The cause of her death was undisclosed.
