Actress Funke Akindele has been nominated to run for Lagos PDP deputy governor.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has shortlisted five candidates as probable running mates for Alhaji Abdulaziz Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, the party’s governorship candidate.

Olufunke Akindele, better known as Jenifa in Nollywood, was mentioned among the shortlisted candidates.

Previous senatorial candidate for Lagos East Yeye Shobajo, former governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, former governorship candidate David Kolawole Vaughan, also known as DAKOVA, and engineer Teslim Balogun were also named as nominees.

This is coming several days after a photo of Jandor and Akindele had gone viral last Friday, with Jandor purported to have chosen the Nollywood actress as the deputy governorship candidate.

It was learned that the actress was just named as a potential running mate because the choice of the governorship candidate’s running mate has not yet been made.

Tonto Dikeh, a coworker of Funke Akindele, has been chosen to be Tonte Ibraye’s running mate for governor of Rivers State in the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2023 elections.
