Ahmed Bakare: Southwest Contributed To Nigeria’s Problems By Voting APC In 2015

Alhaji Ahmed Bakare, said the South West region must bear some responsibility for the security and economic crisis Nigeria is experiencing.

In an interview with the Daily Mail in the state capital on Tuesday, Gusau Bakare said Nigeria has never experienced such severe insecurity and recession as it has been witnessed across the country. Adding that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has failed Nigerians.

“Southwest Nigeria carries with it all the security and economic challenges the country is currently facing because the Southwestern states voted for the APC in the 2015 presidential election. “These are the same people from the South West who are aspiring to be president in the South because one of them, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has emerged as the presidential candidate of the APC,” Bakare said.

He lamented that those who are disturbing the country are a group and they will never make the country peaceful because of their selfish interests. If these old brigades are thrown out of the system, Nigeria may return to its political problems. Atiku and Tinubu are already in the country, and they are still tough political grasshoppers who do not want to hand over power to the youth. If they make costly mistakes by keeping these old brigades, Nigerians will never be in 2023. Forgive yourselves, “he added.

Referring to the Muslim-Muslim vote of the APC, Bakare noted that tribe, not religion, has always been the problem in Nigeria. According to him, there can be no progress in Nigeria until tribalism and religious sentiments are eliminated from Nigerians, stressing that tribalism and religious sentiments are not conducive to good governance.
