On Tuesday, Adeyeri Stephen Kunle, who had been running for the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Akoko South West/South East federal district in Ondo State, declared that he was leaving the party that is currently in power.

The news was delivered by Kunle in the form of a resignation letter, in which he insisted that his decision had been given significant thought.
According to this source, he had not yet disclosed his intention to join a different party.
He said: “After carefully musing and given to introspection on my exit from the APC, the afterglow gave me further impetus to tender my resignation letter as a bonafide member of our great party, and for proper documentation in line with the party guideline and as enshrined in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria”.
In the letter that he sent, he conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, as well as to the State Party Chairman of the APC for the opportunity to participate in the APC.
