Daily Trusts reports that the Gombe state University Management issued an order to all lecturers currently on leave to resume immediately. The registrar of the university whose name is Dr Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto was responsible for disseminating the vital information to the general public. In the memo, all the lecturers in Nigeria were asked to return to their duty post after the academic activities in their various institution resumes. In the memo, it said due to the resumption of academic activities in the institution and also in view of the strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities which made Academic activities to cease, they are instructing the lecturers to return back to the University and resume work immediately.
He said once the activities have commenced, let all teaching staffs report, everyone are instructed to adhere to the instruction. The university also said that they have made provision for attendance register and any lecturer willing to resume should resume immediately, the university also said that they would evoke the policy of no work no pay against any staff member who fails to resume before September 9th 2022. Although the Chairman of GSU chapter of ASUU whose name is Dr Suleiman Salihu Jauro said that the Union will not agree to the directive of the university.
