ASUU strike: Nigerians have no justifiable reason to be disappointed – Federal Government

[ad_1]

The Daily Post reported that, according to the Federal Government, Nigerians have no justification for being dissatisfied with its attempts to get university lecturers back into the classroom.

The statement was made by the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, according to The Daily Post.

The Minister underlined that the government had done everything possible for the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) since the strike started in February of this year.

He asserted that the union was anticipated to change course to advance the interests of students and the entire nation, claiming that no demand could be completely satisfied.

If Nigerians are upset, according to him, “I don’t think they have very strong grounds to be disappointed with the administration on this,” he said.

Why ought they to be dissatisfied? From your perspective, how is it the government’s problem and not the union’s? Please explain.

You can only hold the federal government accountable if it refuses to fulfill its obligation to meet its needs by making an offer. No government, he claimed, could ever completely satiate every demand reported in the Daily Post newspaper.

Public university students have been on strike for at least seven months, according to the Daily Post report, and the union has vowed to keep going until all of their demands have been met.
