“Wike Is On His Own, Atiku Has Resolved To Move On” – PDP Source Gives Update on Party Crisis

According to a report credited to Leadership News, A Source within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disclosed that the 2023 Presidential Candidate of Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has resolved to move on despite the unresolved disagreement between him and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.  

He added that the reason why the PDP National Chairman tackled Wike and his Loyalists few days ago was because of Atiku’s resolve to move on.

It will be recalled that Wike’s Camp has been at loggerheads with Atiku aftermath of the PDP Presidential Primaries. The Crisis rocking the main opposition party intensified after the PDP Presidential Candidate picked the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his Running Mate despite the fact that majority of the Party Stakeholders endorsed Wike for the Position.

The Party source who spoke under the condition of anonymity added that the party is mindful of the Wike group seeking to repeat the 2015 scenario where some PDP Leaders worked against the then President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. 

“We are getting prepared to head into the Elections with the mindset of certain scenarios. We are mindful of the options before Wike and his Loyalists, they have the option of dumping the party or staying and working against the party.
