In a disturbing incident, suspected gunmen abducted Mr. Adegbenjo, a secondary school teacher at Community High School, Alabata, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. The victim, who is an albino, was taken while walking towards the school early on March 6.
Concerns have been raised by residents that the motive behind the abduction might be related to ritual purposes, given the age-old belief that albinos are sought after for money rituals due to their perceived ability to attract wealth.
Fellow teachers at the school have urged state security agencies to intervene swiftly to rescue their colleague before any harm comes to him.
As of now, the state police command has not provided any comments on the incident.
