Buhari Felt Very Bad About ASUU Strike, I Promise To See That The Strike Is Called Off— Adamu Adamu

[ad_1]

The honourable minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, has given his assurance that the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) would soon go back to the classroom because he is doing everything within his limit to ensure that they call off the strike. Adamu disclosed this during an exclusive interview with Channels Television yesterday.

According to the education minister, President Muhammadu Buhari felt very bad about the current strike because it lingers beyond expectation. Adamu said he promise Nigerians that ASUU would soon call off the strike because all hands are on deck to ensure that public universities are reopened.

“Fellow Nigerians, I sit here promising you that I will do the best I can to see that the ASUU strike is off. Even without making this pledge to you, my intention is to meet the ASUU president immediately after this interview.” He said.

Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities embarked on strike on February 14 and all the meetings held between the Federal Government and ASUU representatives to resolve the contentious issues were fruitless.
