Thomas Tuchel awaits a whopping sum of £13m payout after he was dismissed by Chelsea.
The German tactician is set to receive a massive payout as the Blues relieved him of his duties following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday.
According to reports, Tuchel’s backroom staff are also set to receive an extra £2m between them, implying the matching order could cost Chelsea’s hierarchy around £15m.
Reports also indicate that the 49-year-old was one of the league’s biggest earners with around £13m.
Tuchel, before he was sacked, relinquishes Chelsea in sixth place in the Premier League table after a bumpy start to the new season, losing to Leeds United and Southampton and desiring a tricky VAR decision to shove past West Ham United.
Chelsea’s owners announced the decision to fire him 3 months into their ownership of the club following Roman Abramovich’s sudden exit.
Already, Chelsea has asked for permission to speak to Graham Potter over the vacant manager position.
Tuchel was informed of his sack in a ruthless 10-minute phone conversation this morning after arriving at Blues’ training ground, before the decision was officially announced.
Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane are among the favourites to replace Thomas Tuchel at the moment.
