EDO 2024 GOVERNORSHIP COUNTDOWN: THE HOPEFULS FROM ESAN LAND
Recall that, two week ago, as part of our count down to Edo 2024 and the Esan agenda, we showcased five prominent Esan sons out of an avalanche list that we have carefully drawn up. Today, we are presenting yet another group of creme de la creme of Esan descent that, we shall be looking forward to, as we steadily match towards Edo gubernatorial race, come 2024. Segius Oseasochie Ogun.
AGE: 59 years.
BIRTH PLACE: Uromi.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B), 2003, University of Benin, Edo State.
EXPERIENCE: Hon. Ogun has been in the oil and gas industry (upstream) for 35 years. He has also served as the managing director of a service company.
In 2015, he was elected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Esan North-East/Esan South- East Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives. His legislative interest is to sponsor bills for the welfare of the people. He also serves as a member of the House Committee on Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
FAMILY: Hon. Segius Ogun, true to his title, is honourably married with responsible children.
Justin Okonoboh.
AGE: 65
BIRTH PLACE : Ekpon
EDUCATION: MB, BS, Medicine, University of Benin, Masters in public health, University of Lagos.
EXPERIENCE : Rt. Hon. Justin Okonoboh is a medical practioner by profession. Before his adventure into politics, he was the Chief Medical Director of his own hospital, VIVA Hospital, Lagos. He was elected into the Edo State House of Assembly to represent the good people of Igueben Constituency. He served at different times, as speaker and Deputy speaker of the house.
FAMILY: Hon. Okonoboh is married to the love of his life, Betty Okonoboh and they are blessed with children.
Thomas Okosun
AGE: 60+
BIRTH PLACE: Ekpoma.
EDUCATION: HND, Office Management, Auchi Polytechnic, came out with the best result in 1987.
Masters in Public Administration MPA, University of Benin, 1998, LL.B, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, 2006 and BL in 2008 and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2008.
EXPERIENCE: Member and Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, 1999. Presiding Speaker, Committee of house of Assembly Speakers in Nigeria, former Chairman, Action Congress of Nigeria, member of the National Governing Council of The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) – Africa Union Development Agency (AUDA).
FAMILY: Okosun is happily married with children.
