As 2024 beckons and the people of Esan land warm up for what many justifiably feel it’s their right to produce the next executive governor of Edo state, TrendyNews is in the forefront to project the likely aspirants and possibly the potential governor of the heart beat state of Esan extraction. We have gotten quite a list and understandably so. Esan land is richly endowed with massive human resources. Virtually, every family out there, has the individual(s) with the requisite know how to lead a state like Edo like it had been in the past. Sen. Prof. Osariemen Osunbor.

EDUCATION: PhD; Law. University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria.
EXPERIENCE : Law lecturer. Former Senator and Chairman senate committee on legal matters and member several senate committees. Former governor of Edo state and a scholar of international acclaim.
FAMILY: He is happily married to Lady Ussieh and they are blessed with 6 children.
Sen. Odion Ugbesia.
BIRTH PLACE: Ubiaja.
AGE: 73 years.
EDUCATION: B. A. Hons. University of Illinois, USA., M. A. Northeastern University Illinois, USA.
EXPERIENCE: Former lecturer, University of Benin, former Commissioner for Information in Edo state, former special assistant to the Federal Minister of works, former Minister of State at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, former Minister of Solid Minerals and former senator, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
FAMILY : Ugbesia is married to Lily Odion Ugbesia and they are blessed with 4 children.
Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe
AGE: 63 years
BIRTH PLACE: Irrua.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Major Gen Cecil Esekhaigbe RTD, is a Distinguished military officer, a Diplomat, a Scholar and a High Chief in Esanland. He attended all the compulsory and key military courses locally and Internationally. The Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna, Junior Staff College Jaji- Kaduna, Senior Staff Course at the Command and General Staff College South Korea. Others include the prestigious National Defence College Abuja.
Cecil attended the prestigious Annunciation Catholic College, Irrua for his secondary education. He Attended the Lagos State University where he bagged BSc Political Science with second class upper division and the University of Lagos with a distinction in Masters In International Law and Diplomacy. He proceeded to Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma with a Doctorate Degree in Strategic Studies in 2010. A pioneer graduate of the African Centre for Strategic Studies affiliated to US National Defence University .
Held all the appointments commensurate to various ranks in the military including the first Registrar of the Nigerian Defence Academy of Southern Nigeria extraction. He was a Directing Staff at the National Defence College Abuja, Director plans at the Nigerian Army Headquarters , Principal General Staff Staff Officer to the Minister of Defence and the Defence Adviser at the Nigerian High Commission, London- United Kingdom. He is presently a Security Consultant and a political strategist . He is happily married with Children.

EXPERIENCE: An educationist, lawyer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and politician. Chairman, Pace Setters Group of SCHOOLS, Abuja, principal partner, Imansuangbon and Co., a legal firm. former technical assistant, training, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Abuja.
FAMILY: To the glory of God, Barrister Ken Imasuagbon is married and the union is blessed with children.
Engr. Gideon Ikhine.
AGE: 59 years.
BIRTH PLACE: Ukpenu, Ekpoma.
EDUCATION : Bachelors in Civil Engineering, University of Benin, Nigeria. FELLOW, Nigerian society of Engineers (FNSE). He is also a distinguished member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.(COREN)
EXPERIENCE: Engr Gideon Ikhine ‘s work experience cuts across the following: Enplan Group, Pasomar and Associates, SGS Inspections and the big one, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) where he was Project Engineer with the daunting tasks of executing challenging projects in the swampy terrains of the oil rich Niger-Delta. Among these projects are, construction of roads, oil platforms, bridges, location preparation et cetera. The young Engineer is a known name in the politics of Edo state.
FAMILY: He is a family man and a happy one at that.
