Hassan Babangida Hassan has been detained by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, forgery, and employment fraud.

Wilson Uwujaren, the commission’s chief of media and publicity, said that he was detained in Kano on September 7, 2022, in connection with alleged false statements that he was an employment agent who could find candidates work in various ministries and parastatals.
Usman Rilwan, a candidate, was allegedly duped of N14,950, 000 by him on the pretence of securing him a paid position.

Rilwan claimed that he gave the money to the suspect as a “facilitation fee” in order to “process” the employment offer.

The appointment letter that Hassan purportedly gave his victim was found to be a forgery.

The statement noted that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
