EFL postpones Friday’s fixtures after Queen Elizabeth II’s death as EPL Clubs await FA decision

[ad_1]

The EFL has rescheduled two games that were supposed to take place on Friday as a result of the demise of Queen Elizabeth II.

In the Championship, Burnley was supposed to play Norwich City, and in League Two, Tranmere Rovers was supposed to host Stockport County.

However, both games now have a new date.

The English Football League made a statement announcing the postponement of the games between Burnley and Norwich City and Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County. This is being done in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away earlier today.

The statement said, “The rest of the games for this weekend will be decided on Friday morning after the official advice on mourning is reviewed and after more talks with DCMS and other sports.”

The Premier League has not yet confirmed if this weekend’s games will go on as scheduled. A host of Premier League clubs have paid tribute to Her Royal Majesty, the Queen.
