Elders from the North criticise Buhari, Ngige, and Amaechi over the ASUU strike and Kaduna train kidnappings

President Muhammadu Buhari, former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and Labour Minister Chris Ngige have all come under fire from the Northern Elders Forum for the way things are going in the nation right now.

This critique was made on Wednesday via a string of tweets by the NEF spokesman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.

He claimed that as a result of the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike, which started on February 14, the Buhari administration has allowed the educational sector to fester.

Baba-Ahmed blasted Amaechi for engaging in politics during the interval while some of the victims of the Kaduna train abductions were still waiting for the Federal Government to save them.

According to his tweets, Ngige intended to run for Nigerian president while the ASUU strike was still on on and students were still at home. Rotimi Amaechi begged us to elect him president of Nigeria while abandoning a delayed train and its passengers in the hands of kidnappers. Whoever governs a chaotic nation doesn’t matter to President Buhari.

“If anyone said the KAD-ABJ Train kidnap victims will spend 80 days with kidnappers, most of us would have said, no, not this type of high profile victims. But we would have been wrong. The victims too would have been wrong in thinking they will not stay for longer than a day or two.”
