Manchester United is in great form currently after a lacklustre start to the English Premier League season. The Red Devils lost their first two games of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford respectively and were rooted in the 20th position on the league table after matchday two. However, a surprising shift in fortune and an upturn in form has helped the Red Devils climb to the fifth position with four wins in their last four games.
It was their most recent victory that exemplified their resurgence the most. The Red Devils defeated an Arsenal side that had been unbeaten prior to the game by three goals to one.
Manchester United’s new signing Antony Santos opened the scoring with a run of play that saw every Manchester United player on the pitch touch the ball at least once. It was Manchester United’s two midfield stars, Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen who delivered the key passes that led to the goal and it was Marcus Rashford who gave the new acquisition the assist.
After the Red Devils opened the scoring and held on for the rest of the first half, it was Arsenal who got the second goal of the game through Bukayo Saka. The Red Devils responded almost immediately with the ball at the back of the net six minutes after Arsenal’s goal courtesy of Marcus Rashford. The English international added a third after Christian Eriksen laid the ball on a plate for him to pass into an empty net.
