Former Barcelona Football Club of Spain dazzler, Philippe Coutinho was in action today for Steven Gerrard led Aston Villa team in their 6th league game of the current campaign at home against reigning Champion Manchester City at the Villa Park in Birmingham.

The former Liverpool star started the game from the bench due to tactical reason but was introduced in the early minute of the second half for John McGinn when his side were still trailing with a goal from behind, and he was able to deliver at the optimal level thereby played pivotal role in rescuing a point against the Cityzen.

Philippe Coutinho after his introduction into the game was at the heart of the centre-field where he created a couple of chances that helped to advance the ball upfront in complementing the attacking force.

The first half of the game was such a balanced one between the two sides as there was nothing separating them going into the half time break which ended goalless draw.

The same was the tempo in the second half of the game where they both put up some more physical, tactical and technical displays but none was able to break the deadlock until the 50th minute when Erling Braut Haaland opened the scoring sheet to make it one nil for the Cityzen.

The host in the 74th minute stepped up their game and as such got levelled with an equalizer from Leon Bailey to make it 1-1 which was the final scoreline at full time after all other attempts to add more to the tally of the game proved abortive.

Philippe Coutinho with his superb delivery in the game will be hoping to keep his impressive run of form going for his team with the optimism to help them return to winning ways in their next game.
