Ex-Chelsea Boss Thomas Tuchel claimed Aubameyang was ‘crazy’ in revealing assessment

The Londoners’ performance against Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur was dismal. While victories over Everton and Leicester were significant in winning them three points each.

The attack is one of the places Chelsea is working to strengthen as Belgian sensation Romelu Lukaku prepares to join Inter Milan again this summer.

Lukaku moved to West London last year but struggled to be effective on the team. He eventually left for Italy on loan without any buying option.

At Chelsea, it seems like strikers have always had trouble, as evidenced by the expensive signings of Hernan Crespo, Alvaro Morata, and Fernando Torres.

According to long-running rumors, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a former captain of Arsenal, would be persuaded to return to the Premier League.

The north London rivals of Chelsea sensationally dumped the Gabonese international in January when he signed for Barcelona on a free transfer.

He had his transfer approved following a contentious altercation with Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, which was immortalized in the All or Nothing: Arsenal documentary on Amazon Prime.

While at the German team Borussia Dortmund, Aubameyang and Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of Chelsea, had a fantastic working connection and won the DFB-Pokal in 2017.

Aubameyang scored 141 goals in just 213 appearances while living in Germany, including almost 100 under Tuchel.

Tuchel talked about his relationship with Aubameyang and his thoughts on the star striker when he initially joined Chelsea in 2021.

He made them before a match between Arsenal and Chelsea at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium.

“He does not get younger, and that is the issue,” he remarked.

“Having him in the team throughout our time at Dortmund was an absolute delight. Auba was a great finisher on the field and a great striker. But above all, he was a great worker off the field. I believe he missed no training sessions for the two years.

“That can happen with him. For instance, he was five minutes late getting to the practice field! However, if he does this, he is hurried, makes an excuse, expresses regret, and still smiles.

“There was a good chance he would be there with everyone else,” Tuchel continued. “When we wanted him to be on time, we told him the meeting was at 10.45 am when it was actually at 11 am.

It isn’t the main issue. Let’s not forget that he was also a top-notch professional who never skipped a workout.

It was a pleasure working with him; he was always cheerful, honest, and a little wild, but in a good way.

We occasionally stay in touch and message one another when one of us scores a huge victory. I want him to be successful and enjoy himself wherever he is.
