The officials of the Rapid Response Squad have arrested an ex-convict, Emmanuel Sunday, 32, for traffic robbery around the Ketu area of Lagos State.
Sunday was nabbed around Ojota underbridge while trying to dispossess a motorist of his mobile phone.
He had been arrested a few months ago by the Alapere Police Division for stealing and sentenced to three-month jail term in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Wednesday.
Sunday’s arrest is coming after CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, strategically deployed undercover policemen to comb areas with incidences of traffic robbery
The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, had also urged the team to make every possible effort to ensure the arrest of the remaining traffic robbers in the area.
