Five persons, including three women, were on Wednesday burnt to death in an accident along Awka-Enugu expressway, Anambra State.
The crash, which occurred at Nawfia around 6.30am, involved two vehicles, a Toyota Highlander and Hiace Bus with five persons on board.
The Nation gathered that the bus driver was trailing behind the Highlander when he suddenly lost control while on top speed and rammed into the vehicle.
Both vehicles reportedly caught fire immediately.
Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adeoye Irelewuyi attributed the crash to speeding.
He said the fire had been put out by officials of the State Fire Service.
