Nigerians across the four corners of the country, are busy making a bold statement this election season.
It is a clear statement: from now onwards, it can’t be business as usual. The Governor of Edo state, South-South Nigeria, Godwin Obaseki, would be cursing his star for choosing to leave the cosy ambience of his office to visit Uwelu, a slum in the suburbs of Benin City, reputed for hosting the famous auto spare parts market.
The area had been neglected for too long, especially, with the absence of roads and other necessities of modern living. The area, particularly the market, has a large concentration of Igbos, who are undoubtedly, Obidients.
In this video, the charged and hostile atmosphere, particularly, the chanting of Obi, was a strong warning to the governor to the extent that, he didn’t dare to come out of his car to campaign for his party and of course, the reason for which he visited…
