He did say, however, that it was important for the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to figure out how they are going to involve the South-East in the overall scheme of things within the party. He said that this was one of the most important things they needed to do.

Ikpeazu, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State have formed a quartet of governors who have met with Atiku, the presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr. Peter Obi, respectively, at different times in the course of political negotiations.

Nevertheless, Ikpeazu asserts that his attention has stayed fixed on the PDP despite the fact that they have participated in a variety of conversations with other parties.

“Forget all talks of leaving the PDP. I am not leaving the PDP and I don’t think other governors are planning to do so”, Ikpeazu said.
