New Chelsea Head Coach Graham Potter has been announced as Thomas Tuchel‘s replacement after the West London sacked the German Gaffer on Wednesday. The Blues has been quite inconsistent this season as their season has been marred with series of struggles on the pitch.
With Graham Potter now in charge, it’s expected that the England International will change the situation at Chelsea for the better but, it’s like Deja Vu all over, just like when Chelsea appointed Thomas Tuchel in January 2021.
The only difference from that time and now is that the season has just started and it is still quite too early to judge Thomas Tuchel. I mean, he hasn’t even had all of his Players in the squad this season. Mateo Kovavic just returned while N’Golo Kante has been out for about 3 weeks.
There’s still Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who’s awaiting his Premier league debut for Chelsea and Denis Zakaria who’s yet to make his Chelsea debut. These are some cards that could have being the ultimate game changer for Thomas Tuchel this season but, we’ll never know anymore because the club didn’t allow him.
Apart from that, every other thing is just the same like when Thomas Tuchel came in January 2021. When Chelsea appointed Thomas Tuchel last year, the German Gaffer was tasked with getting the best out of Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic.
It’s that same set of Players that Graham Potter must improve at Chelsea in order to fix the struggles of the Forwards. The defense is also very bad as Chelsea have Kept just 1 clean sheet this season, Graham Potter must also change that, and this was just how it was when Thomas Tuchel took over last year.
