In it’s effort to sanitize the Hausa film industry in Kano, Kano State Censorship Board has dragged popular hip-hop artists Safara’u and 442 together with film and Tiktok celebrities to Sharia court, Daily Nigerian reports.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Ismail Na’Abba Afakallah disclosed to newsmen in Kano today that board will do all it takes to bring sanity in the whole film industry in the state.
It can be recalled that, the board had earlier declared Safara’u and 442 wanted two weeks ago.
Other celebrities dragged to court include, Mahmud booth, Ali Isah Gwanja, Kawu Dan Sarki among others.
Gwanja’s name in the list might be related to the songs he released recently, the songs named ‘Chass’ and ‘Insosa’ are trending on social media especially Tiktok.
Kawu Dan Sarki’s star is also shining especially after releasing few tracks recently which include ‘Ingallo’ and ‘Sanadinki’.
They are all accused of using vulgar languages in their tracks and that is against the culture and religion of Kano people, perhaps that is the reason Kano state government is not taking the issue lightly.
