The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to the recent developments at the National Executive Council of the PDP following the resignation of the Board of Trustees Chairman (BoT), Walid Jibrin and the vote of confidence passed on the National Chairman of the Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Wike, who spoke during the inauguration of the Ahoada Campus of Rivers State University on Thursday, said he was not concerned with Jibrin’s resignation. According to him, the BoT is just advisory and not a decision making body, so, giving the position to southerners will be to insult them.
He queried thus: “Who’s talking about Chairman of BoT? What is the role of BoT, just advisory? Not a decision making body. The presidential candidate of the party and the chairman are those who will sit to take decisions. The presidential candidate and chairman of the party are from North. How can we be here, the chairman and presidential candidate will meet, they will take a decision, nobody represents us. You think it’s Wike. It is you”.
Wike went on allege that Atiku and Ayu are arrogant because they believe someone in the Presidency is backing them. He said he will reveal the identity of the person at the appropriate time.
