I Appointed Six Northerners As Commissioners When I Was The Governor of Anambra State – Peter Obi.

Ex-Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has denied an allegation by One Alhaji Mahdi Shehu that he asked Northerners working in the State to always wear a badge as a means of identification when he (Obi) was in governor between 2006 and 2014.
Peter Obi who contesting the 2023 Presidential Election on the platform of Labour Party made this known during the Arise Television Morning Show Programme. The said Mahdi Shehu was said to have further alleged that it took the intervention of the Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso before Obi jettison the idea.
Denying the allegations Obi stated that, he never held a meeting with Kwankwaso throughout his Eight years tenure as Governor of Anambra State.
Speaking further, he said, “When I served as the Anambra State Governor, I appointed Six Northerners as Commissioner, I never had any Commissioner from the South-West and South-South Geo-political Zones. My ADC, Mohammed is from Kano State, So why would I ask them to go and torment their Brothers”, Obi asked.
