I Should Have Been Among The Top 10, After What I Had Done This Season – Thibaut Courtois:

During the last champion league final in Paris, Thibaut Courtois was easily the best player on the night. It was saves after saves, as Liverpool unleashed several waves of attacks. But the Real Madrid keeper stood his grounds.
According to him, “At the moment I made the first save of the game, I said ‘on my life, I won’t let them score tonight’. I won’t let another Champions League title escape me”.
At the end, he went on to complete 9 saves against Liverpool, the most ever in a UEFA Champions League final.
Thibaut Courtois went further: “I needed to win this trophy to put some respect on my name as I think I don’t get enough respect, especially in England. In March, a newspaper there, didn’t put me in the list of 10 best goalkeepers of the season and I find it disrespectful.
I am not saying I’m the number one as there are many great goalkeepers there, such as Alisson, Mendy, Ederson, Oblak but not being part of the list from 1 to 10 after what I have done this season, it’s just not right”.
