Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has anchored his avoidance of public interaction and media chats on a self-acclaimed intellectual superiority to other contenders for Nigeria’s highest office.
Mr Tinubu took to his Twitter account on Monday, tweeting: “I talk less, think more and do more. I am more of an eagle than a parrot. That is why I fly higher.”
Mr. Tinubu has not hosted or attended a press conference since he announced his interest in running for president, and political analysts and the Nigerian people have criticized him for his public appearances as showing his poor health and demonstrating that he is not “presidential material.”
Insistence on succeeding departing President Muhammadu Buhari continues to run against the grain of public opinion, according to the former governor of Lagos.
However, Mr. Tinubu’s goals do not appear to reflect the aspirations of many young people, who prioritize “youthfulness” and agility as important qualities in the next president of the nation.
Since making his statement, the public has focused heavily on a variety of concerns surrounding his identity, age, educational background, and early years, which he has neglected to answer.
Additionally, Mr. Tinubu has not responded to the claims despite their being solid evidence connecting him to narcotics trafficking and peddling in the 1990s.
Many Nigerians believe Mr. Tinubu intentionally avoided answering difficult questions from journalist and further expose his moral despicability before a curious electorate.
