She is a multiple grand slam winner across major Tennis classics. US Open, Wimbledon Championship, Australian Open, name it! She is the elder sister of the equally successful and world renowned multiple gland slam achiever, Serena Williams. She’s single. Stories have it that, she’s a virgin at 41. A resolution she took while growing. The gist is that, Venus would keep her status until she finds her man. She’s a Jehovah Witness by faith.
The former World No.1, has been active on social media, interacting with fans and answering their questions. As she hits 41, many fans have asked about her dating life and marriage. But Venus had strong answers to all those questions.
On her Instagram live, Venus was asked questions by a lot of people. A large part of those questions involved proposals for dating her. Venus straight away rejected them and claimed that she is ‘undateable’.
“Lots of people asking me to go on a date I’m just not, I would say, I’m undatable. That’s okay, I’m happy.” She affirmed.
During the pandemic, as all tennis players got locked down in their homes, Venus was live on Instagram multiple times to answer questions. And just like the above ‘undateable’ comment, Venus shut down all talks on marriage.
“I get a lot of questions asking if I am married, am I getting married, or if I will marry you. The answer is NO to all of them.” She said
Who has Venus gone out with? she broke up with multi-millionaire, Nicholas Hammond in 2019. It was a very public relationship as Hammond was there at Venus’ sister Serena Williams‘ wedding and also cheered her on during tournaments. It is reported that both of them ended the relationship on good terms.
Before Hammond, Venus had a long-term relationship with Cuban model, Elio Pis. And before Elio, she was with golfer Hank Kuehne. It is to be assumed that Venus is currently single since she said recently: “No, no boyfriend. Not quite looking for one either.” She asserted.
Venus has entered her 40s but she still enjoying her tennis. Despite not playing at her peak, Venus has no plans on retiring yet. She last played at the Miami Open, losing in the first round. Her 2021 record stands at 2-3.
A couple of years back, Lagos government, under Raji Babatunde Fashola, brought the world most famous sisters to Nigeria on a tennis clinic with the youth. Nigerians were excited to have them on their soil. Prior to the trip, most people had the impression that, they were actually Nigerians. Who would have blamed them, though. Venus and Serena had an elder sister named Yetunde, may her soul rest in peace.
The name Yetunde, belongs to the Yorubas and this was enough to convince all that, they actually belonged here. However, during a question and answer with journalists, the sisters claimed that, they were Americans body and soul. But, they were quick to apologize to their millions of fans in Nigeria for the disappointment. ‘We are Americans, we are sorry” they pleaded. Best of luck to Venus as she waits on her dream man. .
