In Lagos, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized ten cartons of tramadol 225mg worth N200 million.

Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, revealed this in an Abuja statement on Sunday.

According to him, the shipment was packaged as “tramaking” and contained 500,000 tablets weighing a total of 407kg.

According to him, the illegal narcotics were discovered during a joint check with the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) at the state’s Service storage.

“The consignment landed at Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) import facility from India via Ethiopian Airlines on June 6,” Babafemi explained.

“Customs eventually transferred it to the NDLEA on June 15.”

“On June 14, a similar combined check with Customs at the Tincan seaport’s Customs enforcement terminal resulted in the confiscation of 33 packets of cannabis indica (Colorado) weighing 16.5kgs.”

“The drug exhibit was discovered in TRHU 7874497, a 40-foot container containing four automobiles.

“The cannabis, which originated in Montreal, Canada, was discovered in three of the container’s four vehicles.”
