INEC is no longer using card reader to authenticate voters, here is the new device they are using.

As the world keeps populating, it is necessary that technology also keeps on developing to satisfy human needs and desires in terms of making their day-to-day activities fast and less time-consuming.

As Nigeria is getting ready for her 2023 General election, the election Governing body, the Independent electoral commission (INEC) is doing everything possible to ensure smooth and easy running of election in Nigeria.

In the previous elections, there have been a lot of situations where voters are denied of the vote because the card reader refused to read their details as well as accept their thumbprint.

In other to provide a solution to the above, The independent electoral commission has come up with an Android device that averages on facial recognition and fingerprint.

According to a Twitter user @Ayemojuar posted.

INEC is no longer using card reader to authenticate voters, they’ve switched to BVAS (an android device) which is more secure, and leverage on facial recognition and fingerprint technology to verify voters.

The device is internet-enabled, and can transmit results.
