On Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari declared his desire to end his term in 2023.
At a Sallah celebration at his villa in Daura, Katsina State, Buhari spoke to certain All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, lawmakers, and political figures. He claimed it has been difficult to lead Nigeria.
The president explained to his guests that the rigours of his position had prevented him from visiting his home in Daura for roughly a year.
On May 29, 2023, Buhari will have served in government for eight years, having taken office on May 29, 2015.
“I wish the person who is coming after me the very best.
“I am eager to go. I can tell you it has been tough. I am grateful to God that people appreciate the personal sacrifices we have been making.”
