Former President Goodluck Jonathan will lead prominent personalities, including the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, and his Delta State counterpart, Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as the Amayanabo of Kala Ogoloma, Rivers State, Goddy Idikisime-Olunwa, to the public presentation and launching of a Festschrift in honor of the President of the Ijaw National Congress, Professor Benjamin Okaba.
The event will be held at the Federal University, Otuoke, in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, on Thursday, March 24, 2022.
The book, a collection of articles, is entitled, ‘Culture, Environment And the Niger Delta Questions.’
A statement by the organizers, on Monday, said Arthur Eze will be the chief launcher, while the Vice-Chancellor of Niger Delta University, Professor Samuel Edoumiekumo, is the book reviewer.
The statement said the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Otuoke, Professor Teddy Adidas, is the host of the occasion.
Okaba is a Professor of Sociology and the current Dean, School of Post-Graduate Studies at the Federal University, Otuoke.
He was elected the president of the pan-Ijaw socio-cultural organization alongside his national executive members in April 2020.
Okaba is also the President of the Conference of Presidents-General of Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities.
