Jules Kounde becomes 1st player to assist twice in his 1st away game for Barcelona in 21st century

France international and Barcelona summer signing, Jules Kounde was phenomenal yesterday for Xavi Hernandez led team in their 4th league game of the new campaign away from home against Julian Lopetegui’s Sevilla side at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

The 23 year old prolific defender was handed a role to play in his team’s starting XI line-up which was his second game after he was registered and his very first away from home where he faced his former club.

Jules Kounde who has proved to be a great recruitment for the Catalan giant in the just concluded summer transfer was able to make his trademark as he displayed at the top level thereby played prominent role in helping his team maintained a four-game unbeaten run.

The France international bagged a brace of assist in the thrilling encounter which came in each half of the game to set up Robert Lewandowski and Eric Garcia who scored the second and third goal of the night respectively.

Jules Kounde has assisted two goals in the same Spanish La Liga match for the first time in his 97 appearances thereby becoming the first player to assist twice in his first league game away from home for Barcelona in the 21st century.

He will be hoping to keep the tempo and momentum going for his side in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
