Kaduna Train Bandits Negotiator, Tukur Mamu, Arrested In Cairo On “FG’s Order.”

Alhaji Tukur Mamu, as reported by the Daily Trust, has been arrested.

Mamu, the chief negotiator between robbers and the passengers kidnapped on a train going to Kaduna in March, was caught with his family in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

Mamu was going to Saudi Arabia to do the lesser Hajj. He was held at Cairo International Airport for 24 hours and will now be sent back to Nigeria.

Mamu told the Daily Trust that he departed Nigeria on Tuesday and that, following an investigation by Egyptian security agents, nothing incriminating was discovered in his possession.

Mamu insinuated that the Nigerian government intended to jail him in another country, similar to what was done to self-proclaimed Yoruba freedom fighter Sunday Igboho. But this couldn’t happen because the Egyptian government found out that Mamu’s documents were real.

According to the Daily Trust, Mamu withdrew from negotiations with robbers after stating that the Nigerian government threatened his life and attempted to blackmail him.

Mamu’s claim hasn’t been answered by the government yet, but some people have accused him of working with terrorists, which he has denied.
