The Lagos State Government has said the Lagos Resilience Strategy initiatives should be reviewed to effectively manage the challenges being encountered by Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The state’s Chief Resilience Officer, Dr Folayinka Dania, disclosed this, according to a statement on Tuesday, during a forum held in Ikeja.
She said, “The forum provided the state government with the opportunity to bring together people from private and public sectors, communities, cities and all walks of life to jointly review the implementation of resilience strategy initiatives in government MDAs to ensure that there is adherence to the basics of efficient implementation.
“The state government, through the implementation of its resilience strategy, is committed to building a state that is efficient, innovative and inclusive; a state that survives, adapts and grows sustainably despite its multifaceted challenges.
“We are here today to review how well we have performed over the last two years in line with our objectives and goals; discuss the outcomes and impacts of the projects and programmes that have been implemented; outline challenges to the implementation of planned projects and programmes, and identify strategies to mitigate these challenges.”
In his contribution, the co-founder of Eweko Concept, Mr Saheed Adams, noted that some of the resilience initiatives have helped to mitigate the adverse effect of climate change such as flooding and food shortage among others.
