A Board of Trustees and national caucus member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Benjamin (BB) Apugo has stated that people that are talking about the candidatecy of Mr Peter Obi in the forthcoming presidential election should put sentiment aside. 
Speaking to Sun Newspaper in an exclusive interview, the Ochiagha/Oparaukwu Ibeku of Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State said he is going to vote the right person in the elections.
When asked to comment on Peter Obi who happens to be from his ethnic region, Apugo said the mistake many people are making is trying to connect the Former Anambra state governor with his background. He said people ought to look beyond tribe or ethnicity in making decisions about the election.
“No, no, no, let us not be sentimental about Peter Obi being an Igbo man, it is sentimental.” Sun Newspaper quoted Apugo as saying. 
“We are going to vote the right person. I will vote the right person, I won’t be sentimental about Peter Obi.” he added.
