Following the report that the Department of State Service (DSS) on Wednesday has arrested Malam Tukur Mamu, negotiator of victims kidnapped from a Kaduna-bound train in March, for grilling over security issues, a former Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and former Special Adviser to the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Femi Fani-Kayode, while sharing on his official Twitter page has reacted.
Mamu Tukur who was a lead negotiator for the release of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack victims and the media aide to Muslim cleric and scholar, Sheik Gumi who is also the chief negotiator between bandits, kidnap victims and the federal government was said to have arrived Nigeria through the Malam Aminu International Airport in Kano state after being arrested by the Egyptian police on Tuesday.
While reacting to Mamu’s arrest, the former Minister of Advocate and APC chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode made it known that the biggest breakthrough in the fight against Boko Haram and the Islamic State West African Province, ISWAP, is the arrest, repatriation, and detention of Tukur Mamu. Femi Fani-Kayode while commending the DSS and National Intelligence Agency, NIA, for their great efforts in arresting Tukur Mamu alleged that he (Mamu) is an accomplice to the territories.
Femi Fani-Kayode, however, urged the security agency to go after Mamu associates and other highly placed individuals that are close to him.
