Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have cancelled their engagements and changed their plans as they rush to Queen’s side to be with her alongside other royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are currently on a trip to Europe, were due to attend the WellChild Awards ceremony in London tonight but had to forego that to see Harry’s 96-year-old grandmother in Scotland.

A spokesperson for the couple said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be travelling to Scotland.”

This comes after Buckingham Palace shared a rare update just after midday that the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral with doctors concerned for her health.

Prince Charles, Camilla, and Prince William are already at her side and Harry and Meghan are expected to join their estranged family members.

Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie are also all either with the Queen or making their way to Aberdeenshire to be with her.

Kate Midleton remains in Windsor with her children who resumed at their new school for their first proper day of school today.

The Queen’s new health fears comes two days after she appointed Liz Truss as Prime Minister at Balmoral after Boris Johnson tendered his resignation.

The Prime Minister reacted to the Queen’s health concern, saying: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.

“My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury said the prayers of the country were with Queen Elizabeth.

He tweeted: “My prayers, and the prayers of people across the @churchofengland and the nation, are with Her Majesty The Queen today.

“May God’s presence strengthen and comfort Her Majesty, her family, and those who are caring for her at Balmoral.”
