Mixed reactions trail INEC’s candidates list

[ad_1]

Reactions, on Wednesday, continued to trail the final list of presidential and National Assembly candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday.

In Ebonyi State, a factional senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Ebonyi South, Mrs Ann Agom-Eze, said she believed the judiciary will do justice in the matter between her and the state governor, David Umahi.

Both Agom-Eze and Umahi had been in the Appeal Court Abuja, to ascertain the authentic candidate of the APC for the Ebonyi South zone.

The PUNCH had reported that Umahi made the final list of candidates for the 2023 senatorial election for the zone.

Agom-Eze, in a statement on Wednesday, urged her supporters to be calm and law-abiding, saying all hope was not lost, as according to her, the matter is still before the Appeal Court.

The Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Toby Okechukwu, has denied seeking re-election on the platform of the Labour Party, stating that he remained a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Okechukwu, who is representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency in Enugu State at the House, faulted INEC’s inclusion of his name on the list of LP candidates.

He made his position known in a statement made available to journalists.

Senator Adamu Aliero, representing Kebbi Central, made the list released by INEC on Tuesday.

His spokesperson, Abdullahi Zuru, lauded INEC for the decision.
