[ad_1]

The leadership of Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association in South East Nigeria have appealed to the Governor of Anambra state, Chukwuma Soludo not to enforce a ban on the cattle movement in the state, he said that it would affect their business in the state. Even after there was an initial ban on cattle movement in the state, the herdsmen in the state continued to flout the state government’s order as they were seen roaming with their cattle in both rural and urban areas including People’s farms. Do recall that during the administration of former Governor Willie Obiano, he had given his accent to the bill on ban on open grazing and to the establishment of ranches in the state, this was earlier in 2021.

Do recall that Governor Chukwuma Soludo during a meeting with the Anambra state cattle Menace Committee had reinstated his commitment towards ensuring the ban on open grazing, he assured the people of Anambra state that they will make sure that the ban on cattle movement in the state is adhered to, Governor Soludo said that the enforcement of the law would be taking place this month. He stated that herdsmen must conduct their business within the law, he said although, the law has been there for over a year but this time, they will go hard on it.

Mallam Gidado Siddiki who is the leader of Miyetti Allah Association in South East begged the governor not to enforce the ban as he said that most of them have no other business to turn to, he argued that some were born into the business in Anambra and that is the only business they have known their whole life.
