Manchester United FC, Are Ready To Offload Some Key Players, While Also Positioned To Bring In New Faces.

Reliable sources close to United say that, the club is ready to listen to offers for a number of senior players in a bid to increase the summer budget and navigate Financial Fair Play constraints.

Eric Bailly and Alex Telles will be allowed to leave permanently, the report states. Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are also set to leave at the end of their contracts in June, while Anthony Elanga and Brandon Williams are likely to be made available on loan.

Dawson also reports that Newcastle United want to sign Scott McTominay, and there is interest from Premier League clubs – and those around Europe – in Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.

The same applies to Dean Henderson, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, in terms of United looking to sell. Laurie Whitwell has also reported that Henderson could be sold to raise funds.

It’s a necessity that United get certain players off their wage bill, as much as it won’t be nice to see servants such as Jones depart. If the club want to move forward, they have to start to be more proactive on the outgoings side of things to balance the books and allow funds and space for incomings.

Therefore, it makes sense for the likes of Bailly and Telles, as well as Henderson given he hasn’t necessarily proven enough to become No.1, to also be offloaded. A permanent move away for Williams may suffice for both parties too given his scarce involvement.

In terms of bigger parts of the squad, I agree that a loan is the way forward with Elanga given he needs game-time and an opportunity to develop to try and reach his potential.

However, It’s even more complex with the likes of Maguire, Lindelof and McTominay given they make up substantial parts of the squad but desire regular minutes; selling any of them would mean United would have to search the market for replacement squad players that could do the same, fairly effective job on a rotational basis.
