A former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu while answering questions posed to him by a journalist on Trust TV’s Daily Politics on the continuous strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU said Nigerians are annoyed with ASUU with the way they are handling things.
Journalist: Education for instance has become another lifeline for the opposition to use against the APC, what are your thoughts on that?
Shittu: “Nigerians today are annoyed with what ASUU is doing, they are taking Nigerians for a ride by using the strike to blackmail the government as if ASUU is the only problem that the federal government has. They came up with a very long list and the government satisfied about 30%. Where is the money coming from? Because the government does not just print money for printing’s sake, education is very important but not the only issue government has. Roads have to be built, railways and health sector.”
