The Ogun State House of Assembly voiced worry on Thursday regarding frequent armed robberies in the state’s Ago Iwoye region.

At the plenary in Abeokuta, the Speaker of the House, Olakunle Oluomo, tasked the state’s Commissioner of Police with enhancing the operational surveillance of the police in an effort to address the issue.
He was responding to a statement made by Dare Kadiri, a representative for the Ijebu North II State Constituency, who bemoaned the constant robbery incidences in the area.
Oluomo urged the state police command and other security organisations to improve their performance right away by examining their state-wide activities, particularly in the area around Ago-Iwoye.

The speaker also urged members of the Community Development Associations, religious organizations, traditional rulers and people of the state to always liaise with security operatives about situations in the areas.
